I know this is probably either super suuuuupper obvious or im just reading too much into it, but i LOVE how Jorge changes his voice according to the song in the Ithaca saga

Like yes, we've already acknowledged the difference between the monstrous tone dealing with the suitors vs the airy one he uses with Telemachus, but its MORE THAN that.

If you'd listen closely to how he sings with Telemachus, there's just something different about it, like Jorge is singing in a way that makes him sound older. I suppose this is to help differentiate them too, considering how much Jorge and Mico sound alike, but like, you can hear it right? How his voice has the weight of age in it? Its not super obvious, but its definitely there.

The difference is made so much clearer the moment he speaks to Athena. Like, the difference in tone between his

"Go, tell your mother I'm home, I'll be there in a moment" to Telemachus and his,

"Show yourself, I know you're watching me, show yourself" the shift in tone and modulation of voice is SO GOOD?

He sounds so YOUNG to Athena and I love it.

When he was speaking with Telemachus, he was a father, a father who was way for 20 years, weighted down by the passage of time and it shows in his voice.

But then he turns to meet Athena, this beautiful, immortal Goddess, and its like he was back to his early years. Back to the days where he was her Warrior, training, learning, unburdened by the years. 20 years has passed and yet to this being of whom time holds no power over, he was as young as when he'd taken that boar.

I’ve come to expect a lot from Jorge Rivera-Herrans and the rest of the EPIC: The Musical cast, but physically going to Ithaca was something I never expected.

Epic the Musical But It's a Bunch of Theatre Kids in Ithaca

TLDR: Telemachus always sings high energy and doesn’t really change his energy level through the entire saga, while Antinous feels like he’s holding back. And though it may be unintentional, I think that’s fun characterization and fun contrast between the two characters

I don’t know if it’s intentional or just the way the singer does things, but I noticed Telemachus carries the same amount of energy through singing. Sometimes singers will start off chill or neutral and then hype up as the song goes on, but Telemachus, at least in Legendary, always keeps the same amount of energy through the entire song. Even as he sings the last verse, the music is softer and he’s singing slower, but it’s the same amount of energy as the beginning and middle and everything. The only time it’s any less is in “Little Wolf” when he goes “I don’t know how” but other than that, he’s usually evenly high energy throughout the entire saga.

This is contrary to Antinous who, again maybe it’s the singer himself, feels like he’s holding back. It’s strong, don’t get me wrong, it’s epic and so cool, but there are some moments like the second “wanna be a man then” before going into “die little wolf, die” where it sounds like his voice is almost wavering, not wanting to be too loud or powerful. 

I don’t know if this was intentional or not, or if this is opinion based and it’s just me and my  interpretation when hearing the songs. But I think maybe it’s a good reflection of the characters. In contrast, showing Antinous doesn’t care and doesn’t see Telemachus as a threat, so he’s chill and doesn’t get hyped up because he feels like he doesn’t need to waste energy on Telemachus. He’s just a little guy that doesn’t know what he’s doing.

While Telemachus still has that spirit inside him, a childlike personality so he’s always energetic and hyped up. He also doesn’t really have much grasp or control of himself and who he is, so he just attacks with everything he’s got, everything with one hundred percent and tries his best and pushes himself past what he can handle in hopes to live up to his father’s legacy. 

Again, maybe it’s just the singers style, maybe it’s a personal thing that only I hear, maybe it was unintentional, maybe it’s a mistake, either way, I like this little feature and little bit of characterization.

God Miguel Veloso/MICO as Telemachus was so good!, love how dorky and cheerful he sounds while also having that sense of sadness and doubt, he really feels like a young man who really wants to live up to his father who he hasn't seen in 20 years and just wants his mother to be safe.
